Verna Christine Bachmeier

Verna Bachmeier passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, at the age of 90.

Verna was born August 8, 1936 to David Henry and Lena Leota (Atwell) Fiscus in Longton Kansas. The family moved to Oregon when she was young. She graduated from North Salem High School. She worked for Chemeketa Community College as a custodian for 22 years before retiring. After retiring she volunteered as a greeter at Salem Hospital.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, crocheting, reading, hand held games, drives in the country, bingo and gambling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister as well as her son Bryon. She is survived by her son Nicholas Bachmeier (Diane) of Yuma, Arizona; daughters Rosemarie Carleton (Russ) of Salem, Oregon; Frances Huffman (David) of Aumsville, Oregon; Brenda Wylie (Chris) of Salem, Oregon and Kimberly Knop (Scott) of Benson, Arizona as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on October 21, 2026 at Keizer Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 10:00 am on October 22, 2026 also at Keizer Funeral Chapel
