Thomas "Mutluck" D. Manmiller, age 73, of Portland, Oregon, passed suddenly on January 21, 2026. He will be remembered with great affection.
Tom was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on August 11, 1952 to Lawrence Laverene Manmiller, Jr. and Helene Louise Balmer, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the eldest of four children.
Growing up in the Denver, PA area, Tom was a 1970 graduate of Cocalico High School. After high school, he was a production worker at C and D Battery until a stroke disabled him in 2000. He spent his latter years living in Las Vegas before moving in with his niece, Tabitha, in Portland, Oregon.
Though he never married, Tom was rich in friendships and family connections. He is survived by and was the beloved brother of sisters Kim Fromm and Lisa (Ed) Gromley and brother Kevin (Patty) Manmiller. He was also very much loved by his nieces, Tabitha West of Portland, OR and Stephanie Clayton of Spring Grove, PA and his nephews Ricky Manmiller, Tacoma, WA, Thomas Bingeman, Portland, OR, Robert McNally, Christopher McNally, Adam Manmiller and James Manmiller, all of Pennsylvania. His extended family included seven great nieces, six great nephews, two great great nieces and one great great nephew. He will be missed by all of them.
Tom enjoyed many activities throughout his life. He was an avid fisherman, loved rooting for his Philadelphia Phillies and watching any baseball on TV, loved any kind of music - but especially 70's rock - and gambling (at least when he was winning!). While he faced physical limitations after his stroke, he still enjoyed playing 500 Rummy with his niece, Tabitha (again, at least when he was winning!).
A celebration of Tom's life will be held in the spring/summer of 2026. If you would like to receive details once the celebration is scheduled, please contact Tabitha at tabbyawest@gmail.com
Tom will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
