Steve Henke, 73, of Keizer, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in Keizer. He was born on March 20, 1953, in Dayton to Lawrence W. Henke and Marianne Henke.
Steve was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame High School and spent many years working in furniture sales, where he was known for his friendly nature and ability to connect with people.
Above all else, Steve treasured time with his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than being with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, attending their sporting events and school activities and cheering them on with pride. He also enjoyed hiking, musicals, and trivia, and was always ready with a story, a laugh, or an interesting fact to share.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence W. Henke and Marianne Henke; his sister, Ann Henke Pangborn; and his brothers, Daniel Henke and Christopher Henke.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Wittnebel; daughter-in-law, Shannon Wittnebel; and his beloved grandchildren, Ashylyn Wittnebel and Jax Wittnebel. He is also survived by his siblings, Lawrence Henke (Denise), Michael Henke (Carol), James Henke (Carol), Lisa Henke (Bob Derhsam), and James Pangborn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve will be remembered for his love of family, his kind heart, and the joy he found in life's simple moments. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
