Shanda Sue Uttecht

Shanda Sue Uttecht, 83, of Keizer Oregon died on March 22, 2026, after a long battle with respiratory disease.

Shanda was born on July 16, 1942, to Karlyne and Frank Fleer in Norfolk Nebraska. She grew up and attended Grade school and high school in Winside, Nebraska.

On June 20th, 1958, Shanda married Merle Uttecht at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winside Nebraska. They lived and worked on farms in that area until 1962. Shanda and her husband and her two sons then moved to Gresham Oregon. They lived in Oregon until 1964. Their daughter, Debra Sue, was born at this time. In June of 1964 they moved back to Nebraska. They lived in Norfolk until 1971, then moved to Randolph, Nebraska. In June of 1978 they moved to their current home in Keizer, Oregon where she lived for 47 years.

Survivors include her husband Merle Uttecht of Keizer, Oregon, her sons Gary Uttecht and his wife Kim, Doug Uttecht and his wife Tami, and daughter Debra Henderson, 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, her sister Sharon Driscoll of Tacoma Washington, and her brother Mike Fleer and his wife Pam of Salem Oregon, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering of family and friends of Shanda will be held at 2:00pm. Saturday, April 18th, at the McNary Gold Club banquet room in Keizer, Oregon. Interment will be at a later date, at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hoskins, Nebraska.
