Reva Volk

January 16, 1934 — July 11, 2025

Reva Jean (Jones) Satter Volk, 91, of Salem passed away Friday, July 11 with her 3 children and one grandchild present.

Reva was born to William and Hazel (Brown) Jones on January 16, 1934 in Lamar, Nebraska. She was the middle of 3 children.

Reva moved to Salem, Oregon in 1943 with her parents and siblings. She attended Garfield Grade School, Parish Junior High, and Salem High School. At the age of 16 she married her high school sweet heart, Bob Satter, and they had 3 children, Constance, Rodney (Rod) and Steven.

Reva later worked at US Bank, Ladd & Bush Branch, downtown Salem for 25 years. She spent 24 of those 25 years working in Collections handling bonds, cd's, foreign drafts, state forgeries, and much more. She described it as being the most interesting job in the bank. She early retired in 1992.

After retiring, Reva enjoyed family, family gatherings, entertaining friends, dancing, gardening, scrap booking, and cruising. Reva loved to dance! And she loved to cruise! Reva and her daughter completed numerous annual cruises from 2010-2023. On one, Reva zip-lined 10 lines in a tropical forest in Costa Rica at the age of 80. Her co-zippers were very impressed.

Reva's son, Rodney (Rod), was her primary live-in caretaker the last years of her life.

Reva is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and one grandchild. Survivors include her daughter, Constance Satter of Bellingham, WA, son Rodney (Rod) Satter of Salem, and son Steven (Doreen) Satter also of Salem. Survivors further include 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one soon to be born great great granddaughter.
