Raymond Elmer Hansen

Raymond Elmer Hansen of Keizer was born in Hillsboro, Oregon on April 6, 1941 to Elmer and Erma Hansen. He passed away on February 7, 2026 of congestive heart failure.

He attended school in Tillamook and Brookings, Oregon. He graduated from Brookings High School in 1959 and Southern Oregon College in 1964. He earned his Master's degree at Oregon College of Education, and he taught elementary school for two years in Garden Grove, California and 30 years at Keizer Elementary School.

He was active in sports throughout his life and volunteered in many organizations including Keizer Emergency Management, Keizer heritage Museum, Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum, Oregon Legislature Senate as doorkeeper, and Keizer Little League baseball coach.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, his son, David (Stephanie), daughter, Susan Gage (Roger), grandchildren Madison Jones, Mackenzie and Jack Hansen, and Gwendolyn and Dane Gage.

Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on February 28, 2026 at Salem First Presbyterian Church. Donations can be made in his honor to the Keizer Heritage Foundation.
