Naomi Ruth Atkinson

Naomi Ruth Atkinson, 70, of Keizer, Oregon, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Naomi was born June 15, 1955, in Independence, Kansas, to Rellis and Vernice Reynolds. Naomi was one of 8 children. She spent her early years in Kansas before moving to Oregon with her family. Naomi graduated from South Salem High School. She later built a career as an office manager while also dedicating herself to her role as a homemaker, retiring in 2017. Naomi met Robert Frank Atkinson in 1975 and they were married in November of 1976. Together they made their home in Keizer, Oregon, where they raised three children. She cherished traveling, especially trips to the Oregon Coast. A talented crafter and devoted gardener, Naomi found great joy in planting flowers and creating beautiful things. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family. Naomi was known for her kind and generous heart and will be remembered as a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rellis and Vernice Reynolds; her brothers, Weldon, Sherlon, and Dwight; and her sister, Vivian. She is survived by her children, Joshua (Charmaine), Matthew (Heather), and Emily (Shawn); her grandchildren, Kyle (Miranda), Alexis, Ethan, Blake and Anela; her great-grandchildren, Ziggy and Xaila; her sister, Rachel (Michael); and her brothers, Harold (Laverna) and James (Michele) and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life open house will be held Sunday, January 4, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place, 7845 River Road NE, Keizer, Oregon. Private interment will take place at City View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. Keizer Funeral Chapel has helped the family plan arrangements.
