Jacob Chaffin

With deepest sorrow, we announce that Jacob Ariah Chaffin, age 24 our beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021. Though he left this world far too soon, he left this world a better place.

He is survived by his parents, Tanya Emburg and Robyn Chaffin, his stepparents, Miguel Balvaneda and Heidi Dimercurio, and his younger sister Alexis Chaffin. Jacob leaves behind too many other family members and friends to list around the Salem area and the state of Oregon. His dog, Little Bear, will also miss him and his cuddles.

Jacob was an artist, a musician, an inventor, a builder, and a caregiver. He was creative in all that he did, whether it was in his art, his music, or his work in carpentry. Jacob was passionate about helping others and known for his enormous heart and his listening ear. He was protective and daring, and that combination led to some memorable shenanigans.

Jacob loved so many, and was loved by so many more. He had an energy that with even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life.
