Jack Leslie Rhyne

March 4, 1949 — April 8, 2025

Jack Leslie Rhyne was born in Breckenridge Minnesota on March 4, 1949 to his loving parents, Elmer R. Rhyne and Grace M. Rhyne.

He grew up in Silverton, Oregon, where he graduated from Silverton High School in 1968 and was on the football and track team. He volunteered for the Silverton Fire Department before going on to enroll in Chemeketa Community College Fire Protection Program.

He graduated from the program in 1971 and went on to join the Salem Fire Department in 1972. During his 30 year career at the Salem Fire Department he achieved the rank of Captain, graduated as an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course Instructor (EVOC) in the mid 80's and was a Training Captain at Chemeketa Community College for the Fire Protection Program. He retired in 2002, did volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity.

His hobbies were traveling, riding his Harley, driving his classic cars, and going to car shows.

He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. He was a friend to all he encountered, always making you laugh and there to help at any time.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer R. Rhyne, Mother, Grace M. Rhyne, and his brother, James R. Rhyne.

Celebration of life will be held Saturday June 7th, 2025, at the Keizer Elk's, 4250 Cherry Ave. NE, Keizer, Oregon 97303, from noon to 3:00 PM
