**Harold "Skip" Becker**

**November 8, 1942 - June 15, 2026**

Harold "Skip" Becker, beloved father, grandfather, veteran, mentor, adventurer, and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 83.

Skip lived a life defined by curiosity, craftsmanship, service, and connection. An avid explorer, he found joy on the open road, traveling countless miles on his Harley-Davidson and embracing the beauty of the landscapes around him. Whether crossing state lines or discovering a hidden backroad, he approached every journey with a spirit of adventure.

He was the proud father of two sons, Erik and Jeremy, and took great pride in the family he helped build. He is survived by his sons; his daughter-in-law, Megan; and his beloved grandchildren, Jeremiah, Yishai, Larenz, and Kyra, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Skip was known for his ability to work with his hands, creating beautiful woodworking projects, model ships, and countless other creations. If something needed fixing, building, or improving, Skip was often the person people turned to.

A proud Army veteran, Skip served his country with honor before embarking on a long career with the federal government in forestry, where he dedicated his working life to the stewardship of public lands. He was also a proud alumnus of Oregon State University.

An insatiable reader and student of life, Skip could often be found immersed in books about history, science fiction, travel, and African safaris. His love of learning never faded, and he shared his knowledge generously with others.

Perhaps one of Skip's greatest legacies was his dedication to helping people in recovery. Through Alcoholics Anonymous, he served as a mentor, sponsor, and group leader, offering guidance, encouragement, and hope to countless individuals. His compassion, wisdom, and willingness to help others changed many lives.

Skip will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, quick wit, steady hands, love of learning, and generous heart. His impact will live on in the lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the memories created with family and friends.

Though deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the roads traveled, the projects built, the wisdom shared, and the many lives he helped along the way.
