Eleanor "Ellie" Nancy (DeBlauw) Thomas, born on September 1, 1942, in Redlands, California, to William and Ella (Moedt) DeBlauw, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, in Keizer, Oregon, at the age of 82.
Ellie married her eternal companion, Donald Archie Thomas, on June 17, 1970, in the Los Angeles Temple. Together they built a loving family and shared a life filled with faith and devotion. She was the cherished mother of five children: Scott, Nancy, Edward, Michael, and Susan. Ellie is survived by her husband Donald; her children; her sister Margie Thalmayer; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The second youngest of eight siblings, Ellie grew up surrounded by family and carried that love into every aspect of her life. She was a talented artist whose creativity brought beauty to those around her. An avid bicyclist and gardener, she found joy in nature's wonders. Ellie also had a deep love for music. She shared her playful humor with all who knew her. Her faith was central to her life and guided her actions as she cared deeply for family and friends.
Professionally, Ellie worked as a certified medical assistant where she provided compassionate care with kindness and dedication. Her warmth touched countless lives both personally and professionally.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1375 Lockhaven Drive NE in Keizer, Oregon. Please share your memories and kind thoughts with Ellie's family on the funeral home's site.
