December 11, 1948 — June 21, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas John Carr, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left this world on June 21, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on December 11, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Doug lived a life filled with love, kindness, and a commitment to helping others.

Doug was the cherished son of Franklin and Dorothy Carr, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gwen Carr, whom he married on March 23, 1987, and his loving daughter, Michelle Carr. He also leaves behind his brother, Ron Carr, and his three sisters, Marilyn Giles, Carol Ward, and Donna Olweean. Doug's family was his pride and joy, and he dedicated himself to being a supportive and caring presence in their lives.

Doug's professional journey was marked by his role as a Quality Control Manager at TriModels, where he dedicated 30 years of his life before retiring. His work ethic and attention to detail were admired by many, and he took great pride in ensuring that everything he touched was of the highest quality.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Doug was known for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand. He volunteered at the Happy Factory in Utah, where he took on the role of general manager, using his skills and knowledge to uplift those around him. This dedication to community service was a testament to his character-always kind, always giving, and always willing to support those in need.

Doug's love extended beyond his immediate family; he was truly a friend to many. His warm smile and gentle demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was a loving husband and father, a supportive brother, and a steadfast friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A funeral service will be held on July 1, 2025, at 11:45 AM at St. Edward's Catholic Church, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Doug's life and legacy. Following the service, a lunch will be provided, offering a time for reflection, sharing stories, and honoring the extraordinary life of Douglas John Carr.

In this time of sorrow, we are reminded of the incredible impact Doug had on the lives of those around him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support will forever be cherished in our memories. Doug leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire us all.

He is now reunited with his beloved son, Richard Gray, who also preceded him in death, along with his dear parents. The family finds comfort in knowing that Doug's spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
