Catherine Jane Blair

Catherine Jane (Wright) Blair, born June 30, 1948, in Salem, Oregon, passed away peacefully, April 21, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength.

Cathy attended Brooks Elementary School and graduated from Gervais Union High School in 1966. She carried the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion throughout her life.

She devoted 28 total years of service as a volunteer and then employed Instructional Assistant at Hayesville Elementary School, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. She retired in 2013, leaving behind a true passion of care and commitment to education.

Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Don and Doris Curry, and her husband of 51 years, Tom Blair. Their enduring love was a cornerstone of her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Traci Jagels (Todd); her son, Brian Blair (Tiffany Steele); her cherished grandchildren, Brendan Jagels (Kassidi) and Madisan Jagels; her sisters, Helen Cuff and Judy Wright; and her brother, Ed Wright.

A woman of faith later in life, Cathy loved Jesus and was a devoted believer always looking forward to her forever home in Heaven. She found great joy and comfort in her contemporary Christian music playlists, often filling her home with songs of praise that reflected her faith and uplifted her spirit. Cathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
