Bruce Ronald Hunt

Bruce R. Hunt, 71, of Gervais, Oregon passed away on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022 at Salem Hospital.

Bruce was born in Denver, Colorado on June 16, 1951 to parents John and Juanita Hunt. He had a brother, Gary Hunt. Gary attended Gervais Union High School, 1964-1968. He married Phyllis I Christianson and they had a daughter, Lori R. (Henry).

Bruce was a welder, Mechanic, Hazelnut Farmer and now semi -retired. He loved traveling and accomplished visiting all 50 states and countries outside the US. He also loved hot rods, flowers and gardening. Bruce enjoyed creating masterpieces out of wood, trivia and sharing with others, and practical pranks.

Bruce adored animals and had a soft spot for them, especially strays. He tried to pull off not being social but was very outgoing and sociable. His grandchildren had him wrapped around their fingers and enjoyed laughter. Enjoyed road trips and wanting to learn local agriculture and what is being grown locally. He was always curious.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter Lori R. Henry; grandson Joshua T. Henry and his wife Kayla Jo; and by granddaughter Sarah L. Saeler and her husband Vincent.

A Celebration of Life gathering is planned for 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church in Keizer, Oregon. Please leave condolence messages for the family here on the website. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Oregon Humane Society and Faith Lutheran Church, please share it is a memorial in his name. and plant it in your garden as a memorial.
