Our beloved mother, Aracelis Rivera, went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2021. She was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico in 1942, and had a brief career as a beautician before she met and married Henry Velez in 1966. The couple moved to southern California where they raised three children and she worked as a teacher’s aide and school crossing guard.
For the past 14 years, she’s lived in the Willamette Valley near her sons. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her knew she had a kind heart, a generous spirit, and a beautiful smile. She loved to craft, crochet, puzzle, and spend time with her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Elke of Fairburn, GA; sons Henry Jr. (Amy) of Keizer, OR, and Tito (Jennyse) of Salem, OR; grandchildren, Gabe, Chris, Alyna, Andrea, Nicole, Hannah, and Henry; great-granddaughter Arianna; sisters Raquel, Noemi, and Elizabeth; brothers Angel and Moises; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry, grandson Isaiah, and brothers Efrain and Esteban.
She is now with the Lord God her Savior; may she rest in peace. We love and miss you, mom.
