Katie Garver 09/28/1922 ~ 03/07/2010 Katie was one of 15 children of David and Mary Jones. She had such a loving and giving way about her. She moved to the Bethel community with her husband in 1952 and lived there till 2006. All her life she volunteered to help others, like for 4 years her husband and her were weekend parents for out of state dorm students at western Mennonite school, she also spent 3 months in Navajoa, Mexico helping at a Bible school. She loved mentoring at Englewood grade school and also was involved in the Angel Tree program for 18 years. Katie is survived by her Husband Ora Garver, Children; Mary Cannady, Milly Garver, Dan Garver, Dwayne Garver, Joseph Garver, and Kathy Plourd, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren,2 brothers; Levi Jones and Albert Jones, 1 sister; Esther Horst. "Many Hands Make Light Labor", "Sing While You Work" were her two favorite sayings. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm till service time. Service to be held at 2:00pm Sunday March 14, 2010 Western Mennonite Church in Salem, Oregon In Lue or flowers any donations can go to; World Challenge Incorporated, Nikki Cruz Outreach in care of Keizer Funeral Chapel 4365 River Road North Keizer, Oregon 97303
