October 9, 1937 - March 31, 2021
Alice “Marie” Bensorosky passed away on March 31st after a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones. Marie was born in Cody, Wyoming in 1937 to William and Maude Reynolds and was the eldest of four daughters. She spent her childhood in Wyoming until her family moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1951. She graduated from Anchorage High School in 1955 and attended Anchorage Community College before marrying serviceman Michael Bensorosky in 1958. They were stationed at several Army bases throughout the U.S. before Mike’s retirement in 1970. They settled in Keizer, Oregon and together raised their four children. Marie worked in the savings and loan industry as an accounting supervisor from 1970 to 1985 when she retired to care for her first grandchild. Marie was very involved in the lives of her ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She cherished them and they cherished the time spent with her. She enjoyed attending their various events, be it music recitals, sports events, or graduations. She also enjoyed the numerous vacations she had with her children and grandchildren throughout the U.S. Marie was a great listener and was always available for adhoc visits with her teapot ready and waiting. In addition to being cherished by her family members for her calm spirit and ability to take the time to listen, she will also be remembered as an avid reader, great cook and baker, and an excellent quiltmaker. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael. Her children Lynn, (Rob), Shelley, (Lance), Mary, (Craig) and Mike. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: Craig, Shannon, Alisha, Emily, McKenzie, Brianna, Kevin, Joseph, Ian, and Malia; her two great grandchildren Lucy and Hutch and her sisters Joan, Kathy, and Faye. Please join us in a Celebration of Life to be held on May 1st at 11:00 am at Keizer Funeral Chapel.
